BIO

An experienced teacher of over 20 years, Clare combines teaching singing with performance coaching.  Her aim is to help the client identify their personal singing goals and facilitate them through focussed, accurate, clear instruction, whether that is technically, expressively, musically, healthily or for pure enjoyment. She enjoys a diverse teaching practice from her private studio in South Cambridgeshire UK, but has also taught at further education colleges, at performing arts schools and is the Founder and Musical Director of Lift Off Choir.

A graduate of the London Studio Centre with a diploma in Musical Theatre, she embarked on a performing career that took her all over the world.  Frequently crossing genres between Pop and Musical Theatre. Touring and juggling demanding workloads, she is well equipped to understand and advise on maintaining vocal health for the professional artist. To this end she is also a qualified Vocal Health First Aider and a Mental Health First Aider.

As her teaching has evolved, she has developed a passion for performance coaching.  Too often clients were asking for help to find that special something that brought excitement to their audience, and made their performances stand out from the crowd.  Clare believes communication with your audience is essential for any successful artist, and incorporates teaching this with skills in stage craft, movement, and song interpretation. She is also in demand as a coach for audition preparation for the leading UK Musical Theatre Colleges. Pupils have gained entry to Mountview, Italia Conti, London Studio Centre, Performers, LIPA, Bird College, Urdang, Laine, Masters and many more.

Clare is delighted to be an authorized Vocology In Practice Instructor. Additional professional memberships include Association of Teachers of Singing and British Actors Equity.
