Amber Mogg Cathey
Amber is a voice teacher, vocal coach and the founder of Nashville Vocal Studio a private voice studio in Nashville TN specializing in commercial and contemporary styles of singing. She provides voice lessons, vocal coaching and master classes to singers all over the world and has been continually recognized as one of Nashville’s top voice teachers. Her clients have appeared on television shows such as The Voice, American Idol, Nashville, The X-Factor, The Today Show, Good Morning America and America’s Got Talent. They are major and indie label recording artists, songwriters, musical theatre performers and karaoke and shower singing kings and queens. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with continued graduate studies at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, Amber’s techniques are based in voice science and healthy vocal function. She is passionate about ongoing learning and has certificates in vocology and vocal pedagogy from Shenandoah University. She is trained in Somatic Voicework, the Lovetri Method and she is a member of the National Association of the Teachers of Singing (NATS), The Voice Foundation, the Somatic Voicework Teacher’s Association and the Pan American Vocology Association (PAVA). As a vocalist herself, Amber has over three decades of performing and recording experience. She co-hosted a nationally televised show on CMT (Country Music Televsion) and has done a great deal of work as a voice-over artist for television and radio. She has performed in numerous musical theatre productions and with the Nashville Symphony. Throughout her experiences, she has worked with artists ranging from Blake Shelton to Sheryl Crow to Gary Sandy to Allison Krauss to Roger Waters of Pink Floyd.
